February In SW Florida COVID ’21

2021 has been an unusual season so far. Major topics of conversation range from the vaccines 1 and 2 (yes, we received ours) which outdoor restaurants have you gone to and are you cooking anything interesting? And then you hear, “anything else going on?” The answer is a flat “no.”So we all appear to be in the same boat!

The one thing we have going for us in Naples now is our weather. It has been very spring-like. On the morning dog walks, I can really hear the birds chirping. Also, the doves are dive bombing me (in a good way) in the back yard. A sure sign that they have a nearby nest.

As you can see in the photo, the dendrobiums are still out in force in the yard. They are long lasting. The phals are in spike everywhere but the cold has delayed the blooms.

I have had quite a few orchid classes, so people are comfortable learning in an outside environment.
